Big Fan of Samsung TV's
I admit it, I'm a big fan of Samsung TV's! I have one in almost every size for different rooms in my home and vacation home. I have bought cheaper brands, but always regret it and end up replacing the cheaper brand with tried and true Samsung. Worth the extra money!

Great T.V., great picture, no problems
I needed a new T.V. for my apartment this upcoming school year and after doing a lot of looking this one seems to be the best T.V. for the price you can get it for. I couldn't find one single negative review on it on multiple websites. The T.V. has great picture quality and looks great when I play on my Xbox 360. HD channels also look crisp and clear if u have them. Has plenty of inputs so you can hook up plenty of stuff up to it. Since its a Samsung you know you will be getting a quality product which is going to last you.

It was easy to set up and its basically plug and watch. The T.V. will do all the work for you, just turn it on and have it auto configure itself and your good to go. Only 2 minor nuisances is that the auto configuration can take awhile but of course its a one time thing so its not like it will matter after the first time. The other is that it takes a long time for it to turn on after pressing the power button. Mine takes approximately 9 seconds for it to turn on after pressing power. When it comes to flaws on a T.v. I would have something as little as that rather than anything else. If you're on the fence about this T.V. I highly recommend to just go for it, you wont regret it.

Great TV
The 26 inch screen is just right for the bedroom, very good sound system, no external speakers needed and the price was right.

Great Picture ! But not so great Sound.
Had the TV for about a Week now. Its got a great Picture ! Absolutely no complaints in that Department. Very bright vibrant Colors. The Xbox 360 never looked better.

Although in the speaker department. They tend to distort easily. I enjoy playing Guitar Hero. But with these Speakers its kind of hard to do. I suggest getting another source of Sound when it comes to this TV. Unless of course your strictly going to watch Programs and Shows you should be fine. It will do the Job, but barely.

Exceeded expectations
My new monitor arrived today, with "white glove service." I was looking for something to replace my 13" TV and 19" monitor (also Samsung; I am a Samsung fan), and this fills the bill perfectly. I am just moderately adept at figuring out how to hook up electronic equipment, but the manual included is very clear and descriptive in explaining what goes where. I had no problem with the video aspect of hooking up the TV to my Mac. I do need to get a longer audio cord, so at this point I can't comment on the computer audio setup. The TV picture and sound are great, even without an HD tuner (I have a broadband basic satellite connection on this second TV), and I had no problem with making adjustments to the picture for viewing in the monitor mode. Shipping was free (Amazon Prime member), and I saved about by ordering through Amazon rather than making the trip to the local Wal-Mart. The delivery service was excellent. Setup was truly "Plug and Play," and, boy, is that refreshing! Very easy to set up and very easy to make adjustments to the picture. For someone who wants a TV/monitor combination for an office or small space, this is perfect.

After 6 months of use.
I have had the 4069FX for over 6 months now. I have tweeked the settings a little but I find my picture better than anything I am seeing new in stores now. I love the matte finish! It eliminated any glare that may come through the windows or certain lighting. The only thing I could think of changing about the TV is the placement of the speakers. They face downward off the TV. But the sound I get out of them is still superb. I even utilize 900mhz wireless headphones on it and sound remains great! I have an x-box and a wii hooked up to it and all play flawlessly. I keep the 120hz feature off as it makes everything look like a home video. Though I am sure you will find it fun to play with at times!
Anyways, this was a purchase that I have not regretted and I highly recommend it!

Samsung 4069 an excellent performer (after service issues)
Have (mostly) enjoyed the 4069 unit since it arrived last November.
It does take a while - 10 or 15 minutes, it seems - to warm up for best pic quality. But the display is generally excellent, especially on the 16:9 digital channels.

Some of the SD channels tend to the muddy side but we haven't played with setting them up a lot. Also, I recommend leaving the SD 4:3 ratio pictures in their native form. The set will stretch them to 16:9 but the result, for me, is ugly.

Auto-tuning takes too long as others have posted (about 20 minutes). But after it's done, we can receive digital signals via the Comcast cable without a cable box. And, through some quirk of the cable service, we can receive some apparent on-demand or pay per view offerings that neighbors may be subscribing to. How else to explain that certain digital channels are being rewound as we watch them? The movie will get to a certain point, then rewind back to the "good part". There are some rather exotic tastes in the neighborhood. Cable company says it has no idea how this happens and I'm not pursuing it with them.

So far, I don't detect any motion artifacts like ghosting or image trails. The audio is clean and full-sounding.

The bad: shortly after we got it, the set developed an intermittent condition where the left half of the screen was slightly less contrasty than the right half making it appear there was a line down the middle (but there was, in fact, no line). It could be cured by turning off and turning back on. I realized it should be serviced because the condition could only get worse. We called Samsung for warranty service. It took the service company about 10 days to acknowledge the service request (I had to call them to ask when service would be rendered), another few days for the set to be picked up. They held it for more than a month and returned it but the problem had not been repaired. A second service call was arranged and after another month, the set is back, apparently repaired this time. They replaced a "t-com"(sp?) board the first time and the entire LCD panel the second.
What's really scary is that there are no strict guides (at least here in Maryland) on how many tries the mfr get to repair before they must replace the set. You are at their mercy entirely. Be nice when you deal with their customer reps is my best advice.

All of the above negatives notwithstanding, the set was worth the price which is now much lower than when we bought last fall.

Lives up to reviews
After reading the many positive reviews on Amazon on this Samsung, we ordered it for our son's birthday. Not only did it arrive exactly on his birthday and in perfect condition, but it was great from the moment it was set up. We did do some tweaking on the colors and now it is perfect. His old tv had glare from the front door and sidelights and this matte screen has completely eliminated that glare. He has satellite tv and the pictures have been great. Highly recommend this tv.

Had Preferred 4069 For Its Matte Finish, Now Its Technology Is A Little Dated . . .
After a long search I had settled on the 40 inch 120hz LNT4069. Then I started reading about the improvements in the LN40A650 and the LN40A750 . . . offering 50,000:1 contrast ratio vs 20,000:1 for the 4069 and the newer, lower 4ms response time compared to the 8ms of last years model. But, I still wanted the 4069 because it offered a matte finish for the screen, and several reviewers wrote in complaining and regretting their 'glossy screen' purchase. (Besides, I hate the idea of the 'Touch of Color' feature marring the clean, austere look of the 4069.)
However, after re-reading again and again my research materials, I am breaking down and going with the LN40A750. It finally comes down to being unable to ignore the future proofing the Connectivity and DLNA features provide.
Can someone please explain why Samsung appears to have done away with matte finishes. All the new stuff they are putting out is glossy. I have a very bright apartment and I just know I'm going to be peeved every time I catch the reflections of my sun-drenched blinds on my screen.
(I'm proud of myself for not ignoring all the latest improvements in the new line of Samsung's LCDs. There was a time not too long ago when I still would have purchased the matte screen LNT4069fx regardless of any improvements.)

Great TV - Would Buy It All Over Again!
I did a lot of research before buying this TV . . .consumer reports, reading blogs, going to various stores, "interviewing" friends. That is how I landed on a Samsung as a no brainer choice - the picture is amazing and the design is sleek.

I am very happy with the TV. I read on a blog that there was concern about the volume the TV can go up to . . . I have noticed that the indeed TV doesn't seem to get as loud as I would expect (it is plenty loud for when you are sitting in front of it, I just like to turn the TV up sometimes and continue to listen to it while in the shower with the bathroom door open), however I have to admitt I have not tried to mess around with the volume on my cable box to see if that setup is the culprit.

Overall, I have zero regrets of my purchase!

Where's the HD?
I purchased this tv when my old Westinghouse LVM 42-w2 failed on me. The Westinghouse was a GREAT tv, with a crystal clear picture. I purchased a warranty through Best Buy when I originally purchased the set, and they gave me a refund when it went bad to apply to a new tv. I picked this model really at random - I didn't do the oodles of research I did on the Westy, trusting that it would be good at the price point. When I got home and set it up, I was really disappointed. It did not look very good on the factory settings. I turned off all the "bells and whistle" settings just to see the bare bones picture, and it was disappointing. I then spent a great deal of time tweaking the picture settings to try and get it to look good - all to no avail. Overall, the picture was bright and had very good color, but the clarity was really lacking on this set - everything just had a slight softness to it - definitely not the full HD experience I was used to. I also connected my PC to the set and once again, you could really see how it didn't give that crystal clarity that my old Westy had. For you techies out there - I have a HD DVR box connected via HDMI and was testing the set on 1080i broadcasts. I was getting a great picture on my Westinghouse with the same exact setup. I also tried a different HDMI cable to see if I got any difference - to no avail. ALSO - I returned the tv thinking it was a dud, and got a replacement. The picture looks exactly the same. This one is going back to the shop, and I will likely avoid Samsung sets in the future. I was really shocked especially after reading all the good reviews (especially the high rating at Consumer Reports). If you've never had full HD, this set might work for you, but if you know the full potential HD has to offer, this falls short of the mark.

Samsung LN46A550 46-inch 1080p LCD HDTV
I'm very pleased with this television. The picture quality is fantastic. The colors are bright and crisp. The picture is so clear. I noticed the exceptional quality of the picture especially while watching the summer olympics this year. My wife and I watch a lot of television and I know that we will enjoy watching it more now that we have this LCDTV. Family and friends have come over and they were as amazed as we on the performance of this television.

Although we do not have high definition ($$$) the tv looks awesome. I would recommend getting a surround sound system to increase the volume.

Good Value
I almost bought the TV at Cosco for 00 + but couldn't fit it in the car. Went online and gotth set for 40 "out the door". Took 3 or 4 days past the delivery date, which I was able to track. Otherwise it was as advertised, a very nice picture, although I didn't know that I had to get a different box from Comcast for more money to get HD. That never seems to be in their ads for how much HD you get with cable. Suprise, pay more.All in all a great TV at a great price.

Great TV
My wife is hard to please, but even she said this is a great TV. We bought a Vizio before and there is no comparison. The delivery service was also very smooth and they called ahead of time to make sure someone was at home. Very happy.

Nice TV and I had no problems with Amazon's delivery service. I almost went somewhere else to buy the TV because of all the bad press that their delivery service got but it was a nice experience.

I have been using the TV over a month, the picture is OK. The major problems of the TV are the remote controller is quite funny, no 2 much useful buttons and it DOESN'T WORK away 3 feet ( or 150' )


comparing with Sony, Samsung is quite poor. However, I paid the money for Samsung only, not Sony. :) I should add 0 to buy sony 40' v series.

Great Product with a bonus
I have owned this set for one month and have nothing but praise for it. I purchased this set from Amazon, and it was shipped quickly. The CEVA personnel unpacked and hooked it up. They waited while I inspected the set to make sure it worked properly and that there were no defective pixels. There weren't any.

The picture is top notch. I recently visited a friend who had a new Sony HDTV. While the picture on his set was very nice, I did notice that the blacks seem much deeper on the Samsung. It seems to me, that the colors, in general, are a bit richer on the Samsung than they are on the Sony.

I have seen many comments complaining about the sound. If you're expecting a top rate sound experience you might be disappointed. However, the sound on this set is better than on the set I replaced. Compared to my friend's Sony, I didn't notice any appreciable difference in the sound. Of course, that might be my old ears not being able to tell the difference. If I feel the need for better sound, I'll purchase a sound system. I think most people who want the best sound experience do this anyway.

This set apparently has a built in QAM tuner. Although I have not seen it specifically stated that it has this feature, the owners manual states that you can receive HD-digital channels without a set-top box. What that means is you can receive non-scrambled HD digital channels having only a regular (non-digital) cable subscription. The number of channels will vary from area to area. Some providers may scramble all HD-digital channels. If this is the case, this feature will not work. In my area, the local channels are not scrambled and can be viewed in HD.

I was not aware of this fact when I purchased the set. I think others may also be surprised to learn this. So there you go, free HD. That's a nice little bonus I did not expect.

Pretty spiffy!
I've always liked Samsung products and this was no exception. I think this is the highest quality you can get for the money. I debated sizes for quite awhile but am extremely happy with the 40". I feel it's very versatile for different rooms. It currently sits in my living room where we watch it at a distance of about eight feet.

Some reviews say the sound quality is poor and while I admit it's not like having real speakers, I think it's acceptable. While I wouldn't say I'm an authority on sound, I am a music teacher and still possess a great amount of hearing.

The picture is very clear, be it DVDs, stations picked up over the air (yes, I'm using rabbit ears...too cheap for cable), or video games. My wii looks very nice in HD, as does the ps2.

Delivery was exceptional. The TV was delivered four days after my order and the delivery man set it up and confirmed that it worked. They even were very flexible with the delivery, working with my work schedule and giving me a 2 1/2 hour window instead of the standard four.

Also, I must say I love Amazon's 30 day price guarantee. So far I've shaved off the original price I paid. I hope I'm not annoying Amazon too much by calling in for a B001418W2C.93 price change :)

Great TV, great price. The remote is pretty nice too.

Why did I wait so long!
Let me start by saying that I'm a little late getting into the whole HD thing, and also new to Amazon.com. I was searching for the right model for a while and after reading previous reviews I decided on this Samsung, and I am definitely not dissapointed. The picture is amazing and it is very user friendly. I recently watched Batman Begins on Blu ray and I cannot describe how different the experience is. It's almost like watching a movie for the first time again.
